MOSS ON WOOD

With Living Background material you can establish mosses, liverworts or small epiphytes on wood as shown in the photo of this arboreal tarantula’s burrow.

STEPS:

1. Smear Living Background material into the nooks and crannies on the cork tube or depressions in the branch you wish to use.

2. Place small pieces of moss, liverworts, micro ferns and other small epiphytes on the wood and mist very gently once per day with a plant sprayer until the plants begin to spread in a few weeks to a few months.

3. Depending on whether the wood is in constant contact with a water feature you may need to mist the moss every few days to keep it green and growing. Small epiphytes may need more or less water than mosses. Keen observation of your plants will guide you.
